A series of lessons designed to teach the basic principles of nutrition, hygiene, and agriculture

 

Farmers Organization
This lesson describes the Association of Farmers, what can be accomplished by organizing such an Association, and why organizing an Association is an effective way to adopt new technology.

 

Agronomy
This lesson teaches crop production concepts including seed selection, land preparation, weed and pest control, harvesting and storage.

 

Small Animals
Learn how to use small animals to provide protein in the diet of small farmers and their families.

 

 

Family Nutrition
This lesson focuses on fulfilling the nutritional needs of families and includes topics ranging from feeding babies to food storage.

 

Family Health
This lesson teaches prevention and treatment of various diseases that affect humans. It includes lessons on water purification, treatment of parasitic worms, diarrhea and fever, dental health, immunizations, maternal health and first aid.

 

 

Family Sanitation
This lesson teaches families the importance of proper sanitation in the home through lessons such as sanitation in the kitchen, disposing of human waste and washing bedding and laundry. Also includes a lesson on managing family finances.

Farmer's Organization - Chapter 1
At the conclusion of this unit, program participants will know what is an Association of Farmer Friends (A.F.F.), what is to be accomplished by organizing themselves into and an Association of Farmer Friends, and why organizing an Association is an effective way to adopt new technology.


Family Sanitation - Sanitation in the Kitchen
Participants will learn how to reduce health hazards associated with the kitchen. This includes dishes, utensils and food keeping.


Family Nutrition - Variety in Foods
